I Won, but just bearly...

Trust me, it ain't pretty or coherent, and it;s not complete. The Manuscript was always supposed to be around 150k, so I still have about 100k left to go. When I saw that I was going to tank, I stopped trying to write in scene order and just wrote the scene I knew. I will admit the yWriter5 helped immensely in this. So the 50k that I posted is jumbled, confusing, and riddled with misspellings and awful grammar, but it is 50k long. actually I think its 57k long, but in editing I imagine I will cut like 10k of that. ah well. two years now, I've won, go me!

Day Sixteen 22000

WAHHHHHH I'm over 6,000 words behind!!!! I guess I'm gonna have to take my computer to work just so I can get my word count up. Grrr, I wanted to avoid that, but I guess I don't focus enough when I get home. I mean, I would stay up and work more, but I now have a real job and I have to be up around five am. Wish I was a real writer, then I could make my own schedule and get up at noon and work till 3 am if I wanted too. *pout*

Ah well, maybe soon. 6,000 isn't impossible to get through, I just need to make an effort to write on the weekends. I know I can squirrel an hour in Saturday morning and one in on Sunday night. That should help significantly.

Day Twelve 18,765

I tried, but just can't quite make it. but I'm only 1300 words shy, so its not all bad. And considering I've had a rough week, plus I start a job Monday, its not bad at all. Honestly I'm doing pretty good, and I will probably go back over some scene's tomorrow, bolstering my word count. Also, I've got three chapters done. so far so good. This keeps up and I am going to clean it up in December and start submitting it to my writer's group in Jan.

Day Eleven 16,140

I am behind about 5,000 words, so if I could just get through an entire chapter today, I should be pretty much caught up. I know I said that yesterday, but today, I gotta do it...must write!

Way behind but catching up

I fell way behind the last few days. Migraines will do that to a person. However, if I can get this whole chapter done today, then I will be all caught up. I’m only 3500 words away from being on target, and if I can pound out a chapter I will be roughly 3000 words ahead again. This will be nice since I’m starting a job Monday. Anyway, back to work then.

Day Eight 12,856

I'm fading fast, as per the NaNo Stats page I should be at 13,333 words. The weekend was quite awesome though, I did as very little as possible, and spent it all with my smoking hot boyfriend.

I will mention that every Saturday morning I spend with my writing group, they're a great group of people. I do have and actual novel I've got a draft of, and they're helping me get iron it out. I'm pretty psyched about it.

Anyway, I will endeavor to get caught up and past the recommended word count for the day tomorrow. I have to get my oil changed anyway, no better time to write away than then.

Day Seven 12049

Not a whole lot, I almost got a full scene done, In all honesty is more than I thought I'd get. Well short entry today, I'll shoot for a better one tomorrow.

Day Six 11,316

I only got a few words today, I wont be able to write hard core till Monday again. Nice to know how this is going to work this year. My weekends are so full with my friends and family, plus this is the month I do all my yule gifts and what-not, so its a busy month for me. So with luck, I will get a few hundred works Sat and Sun and then I can bust ass on Monday.

Not much, but I'm still slightly ahead of the schedule.

There was no progress today, sadly I was unable to work due to other obligations...ugh, hate that word.

Day Three 9254

I am soooooo digging this yWriter thing. My only complainant is that my spelling is so bad that I require a spell checker, and it doesn't seem to have a working one. Or the way it works is it highlights the words that are wrong, and that's it. So I've been typing it up in Word and then pasting it in yWriter. Works fine for me.

The story is really coming along, I've had to pause a few times to do the age old, write things on note card strips and arrange the out line that way, but it works, and moves the story forward. I didn't get to do as much planning for this story as I would have liked, and I'm merging a few idea's I've had for some time into one, so its a little tricky, but it seems to be working for now.

I am way ahead of where I should be on the third day, and am glad for that. I know I am going to hit a wall in the middle, and I hope to be far enough along that I can push through it without falling behind.

Day two 5162

Sadly I only had about two hours to write today, with all my other commitments. Tomorrow hopefully I will be able to sit down and flesh out my first chapter and move on to the next chapter. I downloaded yWriter, it seems to be cool. I'm liking it so far, I just need to get the spell checker working right so I don't have to type things up in Word and then cut and paste it over to the yWriter.

But my word count is where it should be two days from now, so currently I am ahead, though I'd rather be much farther. Maybe I will get some more writing done tonight after my game, however it will have to go on tomorrow's count.

Day One3,698

Got to 3,698 words in about three hours yesterday. I forgot that yesterday was the first of Nov, and I refused to get behind on my word count, half of making this work is keeping to the daily word count.

Things should go pretty easy till the last half of the book, I managed to sit and focus long enough to outline the first third and first half of the second third...that made since I swear.

I've been checking the Nano sites, its nice to see others sweating along with me, and to see how prolific some others are, so ppl got 10k yesterday! That's amazing! I can only hope I have a few days like that.

Halloween Madness!!!

I decided to throw a party, many plan to come...it cuts into my planning time. I have to hand make most of my decorations, mainly because of the Victorian theme, and I'm broke. I got birds and mice sillowets and some very cool lanterns made out of cardboard. If you're good I'll post some after party pics...

Still managed to find some time to map out the killer's patterns and reasons for killing. Also took time to rethink the plot and a couple sub plots. Only got a half hour on the treadmill, I can't map on the mill, movement and script don't mix.

NaNo on a Treadmill

I am currently trying to excersie more, but I also need to pre-plan, solution? Walking Desk!

Sort of. I have a nifty clippy thing that holds my laptop on the Treadmill so I can walk and type at the same time. Today I got about an hour in and buried about 300 calories, plus started the map for the first three chapters. I call that success.
